Packing!

When I was still working and I had my English para-pro, Mo, she would ask me days ahead of a trip, 'are you packed?'. Of course, the answer was usually 'no', because I tend to be somewhat of a last minute packer! Except on this trip. I have been making lists for months, reading about what to take to Alaska for a trip during the summer, and then have been collecting items for the last several weeks.

As I started to look at the piles, I realized I needed some packing assistance, so I looked online for info and found all kinds of videos, with these skinny little things packing huge amounts of clothes (one of them claimed to have 110 items in her carryon) that were nothing more than little jersey dresses, tops and leggings. Well, if you know me, you know I'm not a skinny little thing, and besides, I'm going to Alaska where it is 50-60 degrees and raining! I need layers, raincoat, hat, gloves, etc. I did get some good ideas and bought some packing cubes which really did help with the organization. I think I've gone through 6 versions of packing and finally, after weeding out a few tops I have my 2 suitcases packed, a whole 48 hours before the ship leaves! Woo-wee!

As you can see, I also had a bit of fur-baby help with the packing:
